M11 Funds is a regulated digital asset manager specialising in institutional-grade investment strategies. Our flagship Liquid Token Fund (LTF) operates under a hedge fund structure and actively trades across the crypto and DeFi markets. We also manage bespoke mandates for institutional clients.

M11 Funds is part of M11 Group, a spin-out from Maven 11, Europe’s largest crypto venture capital firm. Since 2015, our team has invested across blockchain, DeFi market-making, and crypto credit, earning a reputation as one of the most experienced players in the space.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a technically skilled intern to join our team and strengthen the backend and quantitative research side of our operations. This role focuses on building, expanding, and maintaining our data and trading signal infrastructure. You will work closely with our portfolio managers and investment team to develop tools that directly support systematic and fundamental decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand our existing information workflows (data ingestion, APIs, market feeds, on-chain data sources).
  • Structure, store, and manage large financial and blockchain-related datasets.
  • Build internal dashboards and data visualization tools for investment and risk monitoring.
  • Design and implement new automated trading signal workflows.
  • Support the research, testing, and deployment of quantitative models and trading strategies.
  • Ensure reliability and accuracy of signals and pipelines used in live trading.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a technically strong, analytically minded individual who thrives at the intersection of programming, data, and financial markets. You don’t need to be a fully polished quant, but you should be comfortable enough with statistics and modelling that you can independently design and test workflows without constant supervision.

We value skillset and mindset over a fixed background. The ideal candidate could come from:

  • A STEM background (data science, computer science, engineering, econometrics) with interest in markets.
  • Finance or economics with strong programming/quant skills.
  • Traditional finance roles (quant research, risk, data engineering) curious about digital assets.
  • A student or self-taught profile with projects like backtested strategies or open-source analytics tools.

Core skills

  • Solid understanding of crypto
  • Hands-on experience building data pipelines, dashboards, or quantitative models (professional, or personal).
  • Solid programming ability (Python and SQL at minimum).
  • Working foundation in statistics, econometrics, or data modelling, with the ability to backtest and validate strategies.
  • Experience with APIs and handling structured/unstructured datasets.
  • Independent, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.

Additional skills considered advantageous

  • Crypto-native
  • Deeper experience with quantitative modelling or portfolio/risk analytics.
  • Knowledge of market structure, derivatives, and DeFi.
  • Previous exposure to trading, backtesting, or automated execution.

Above all, we believe that smart, self-starting individuals can learn a great deal on the job. If you’re excited by our mission and confident in your ability to contribute, we encourage you to apply even if your background isn’t a perfect match.

Why Join Us?

  • We encourage your ideas and give you the freedom to test new strategies, tools, and workflows. You’ll have the chance to help build out an entire quant capability from scratch within a fast-growing hedge fund.
  • Work closely with the portfolio management team on real-world trading signals and data pipelines.
  • Take on responsibility in a small, ambitious, and international team where your contributions directly impact investment decisions.
  • Develop workflows and trading signals that directly feed into live strategies.
  • Historic Amsterdam canal-side office, daily team lunches, and regular off-sites.

How to Apply

Please send your CV and a cover letter to info@m11funds.com.

In your cover letter, explain why your combination of skills, experiences, and interests makes you a strong fit for this role, and how you see yourself contributing to our quant and data capabilities.
